    Post your latest oil change

2006 Dodge Caravan 3.3L engine 165000kms. Used Wix 51515 oil filter with PYB SM 5W30 4.75 litres of oil + about half a litre of Autolab 10W30 SJ rated oil I had lying around. My last OCI was 8000KM using PYB SM 5W30 and same filter but Carquest Blue branded. I wonder if it's ok to go 10000kms...

Changing my own oil stopped making sense

As much as I like to change the oil myself on my Dodge Caravan (it's supereasy to do, the oil filter is very accessible, plus I also grease one of the ball joints which has a torn boot), I would not encourage anyone who doesn't feel comfortable doing it. I use ramps plus I use jacks on either...

    Can I extend OCI using M1 0W40?

From what I've read about this engine, it's supposedly a bulletproof engine and my driving style is quiet normal, hardly ever go above 3500-4000rpm, mostly stays under 3000rpm. Bought this van last year with around 140000kms. I have already done two pan drops and filter changes for the...

    Can I extend OCI using M1 0W40?

I think i'm gona run it for 10,000miles. I have a stash of 5w30 dino oils that i've been using regularly. I have PYB, VWB, QSG, and some Castrol GTX, all bought on sale for around 2 bucks a litre which I run for 5000miles. The only reason I got this oil was because I got it so cheap considering...

    Can I extend OCI using M1 0W40?

Hey guys, I have a 2006 dodge caravan which has been seeing 8000km ocis using dino oil. Right now it has 5W30 PYB and it's almost due for another oil change. I happened to get a deal on some M1 0W40, I got 24 liters for around 90 bucks, which works out to a bout $3.75/liter. I'm thinking of...

    Paint inside Wix Filter?

Thanks for the info Pete C., now I'm not worried. Other than the ink on the bottom of the cartridge which I didn't knew was normal the filter looks good and sturdy. I can get these filters here in Canada for $5.29+eco fee+taxes=$6.54. My Van is specked for the 51085 but I used the oversized...

    Paint inside Wix Filter?

Hey, guys, I just bought a Wix 51515 filter from local parts store to use for my next oil change on the Caravan. 51515 is the equivalent of the Fl-1A filter. Anyways, on close inspection, when I look down the threaded hole with some light, I can see that there is some green paint splattered at...

Drove truck 1/4 mile with no oil!!!!!

Best thing to do in these situations is to floor the gas pedal and cause irreversible damage, so that they quicky lube place is stuck with either changing the engine or the tranny, either way. There is no way, that they can prove in court that their mistake did not cause the damage.

Drove truck 1/4 mile with no oil!!!!!

If it was my truck I would restart the engine and run it at WOT, till it smoked and completely died. That's one sure way to get a new engine out of them. he he. That type of common sense doesn't even need to go as far as a court.

    Luber-Finer filter quality?

$6.60 for a luberfiner is too much I've got them in the past at parts store in Canada, southern Ontario for less than 3 bucks each. However, I stopped using them after I saw some stories here on bitog of the inner plastic core collapsing and breaking, also they use fiber endcaps similar to...

Best FI Cleaner Available in Canada?

I have used Redline, Amsoil PI, and Regane in the past and maybe the injectors in my 06 Caravan weren't that dirty to begin with I didn't really feel much of an improvement. Today, while visiting [censored] Tire here in town, I saw the Motomaster Extra Strength Fuel Injector Cleaner on sale for...
