    is aftermarket going sour or...

I know you drive a Saturn but this has been a huge problem in the Honda world. It's crazy to say but it's hard to find quality parts for k-series motors (k20a.org is the forum i'm mostly on) or Honda's in general. The problem is a lot of good companies start out small. Once demand outpaces...

    Thoughts on Redline oil?

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to get a UOA on it once the next oil change comes around. Yes i'm also running their 70w80 mtl transmission fluid. Shifts are much less notchy vs. the oem Acura tranny fluid. I was worried about that too, it seems like a 70w80 would be a little too thick for a...

    Thoughts on Redline oil?

So i've been running 0w-30 Redline oil for a while now. I daily drive my '96 civic and the motor is a k20a2 from an RSX Type-s and sees 8600 rpm almost daily. There was a user on here that mentioned there were better alternatives to Redline. Can anyone clarify? I've always bought boutique oil...

    first drag race

First real drag race was in my '93 Talon Tsi AWD. Stock 14b turbo, manual boost controller/gauge @ 15 lbs. of boost, turboback exhaust, walbro 255, street tuned on an apexi afc, etc. etc. That was all you needed back then to make close to 300hp. Ran against a b18c5 civic hatch. He told me he was...

Pennzoil Ultra 5w-30---7,500 miles---92 Civic VX

Reading all these responses...you're better off just replacing it with another d-series engine or finding another cylinder head. They're all OVER the place. I probably know 3 guys with them just laying around in the garage. We're all k-series guys now :P. Just put up a WTB ad on one of the...

Anyone know of a good ZDDP additive

I have been using Torco ZEP zinc additive or Torco MPZ magnetic friction reducer. Currently using the ZEP and although the car feels much smoother and the engine is much quieter i have no UOA to back any claims.

    Is Redline oil that thick?

That was the exact info i was looking for thanks! Temps shouldn't get that high as i won't be racing my car any time soon over the winter. I think i'll stick to what i've got now until the next oil change then switch to 0w30. Do you know of any links where i can learn the definitions of all...

    Is Redline oil that thick?

As winter approaches i've been looking to switch oil weights. Currently running Redline 5w30 but now i'm thinking 0w20 for the winter since everyone's been telling me my oil is close to a 40 weight. Or is the difference really negligable? It's an rsx-s a Honda motor after all.

    Introduction...

Thanks for the replies guys. I didn't know that. Honda calls for 5w-30 in my motor. Would i be better off sticking with Torco in the winter months? How much of a difference is this going to make regarding start-up lubrication?

    [pic] - awwww I'm a little disappointed :(

only time will tell. just because it's made in a certain country does not make it a bad product. i always question a company's QC process and materials used no matter where it's made.

    07 civic coolant options

I use Honda type 2 and it has been great. I don't know about keeping it in for 100k miles but i do top off every now and then. I mean the coolant isn't THAT expensive.

    Introduction...

Whats up guys. Been a long time lurker on here and figured i'd introduce myself. My name is Jeff and i'm from Levittown, PA. Currently driving a 96 civic with a k20 engine swap. I've been through tons of different oil. Just switched from Torco SR-1 to Redline 5w30. So far i like it. Engine is as...
