    2008 Dodge Cummins OCI quandry...

Since your DPF and EGR fell off you are absolutely fine. Even more so since you're running Syn.

    PUP 5w-30 -5,040mi, 2011 F-150 Ecoboost 37,198mi

I also posted this on another thread. The oil on the last two tests are actually Kendall's semi-synthetic. Although there has been some shear I think the results are excellent. I'd guess the reason Ford spec'd the 5W-30 in the Ecoboost verses the 5W-20 it specs else is because they know there...

    2011 F150 3.5L 32,089mi & Kendall FS 5w30 3,975mi

Here's the latest results. The two recent tests were with Kendall semi-synthetic. Mileage on the last test were mostly on the highway. I think the results were excellent. The concern about water accumulation and shear seems unfounded. It burns no oil. Based on the results, I'll stay with this...

Changing from Dino to Synthetic Oil after 100K?

I change my oil when the truck tells me to and that has always been at 10000 miles. Originally I used a Halvoline dino and the UOA results weren't bad but not great. After seeing the results and reading the manual (I know, I know...) I found I should have been using a semi-synthetic. I use...

    MAG 1 15W40 in 2007.5 Cummins 6.7

Here's the latest test results. The first oil was Mag 1, then Halvoline and the last three were with Rotella T. All but the last one had heavy loads towed with a GCVW of ~25000#. Since my wife no longer competes we sold the big trailer so it's easy pulling now and not very often. The last sample...

    Amsoil DEO 5W-40, 14k miles, 2007 Cummins 6.7L

The 2006's and early 2007's 5.9L had a recommended oil change interval of 15k. With the 2007.5 6.7L they dropped it down to 7.5k. It appears there are more than a few of us who have sought after and hit the same pot holes with excellent results in both mileage and the OCA. Such littering has...

Dave, Clearly your tires are going to go rotten from oxidation before you need to change the oil!

    ecoboost longevity

98k on my 2011 F150 Ecoboost. No problems yet. The gas mileage is way ahead of my 2001 F150 5.4. Towing is tremendous. The 5.4 struggled big time with the load while the 3.5 can power up anything. My 2001 would get about 7 mpg pulling my horse trailer while my 2011 gets almost 11 mpg pulling the...

    01 Cummins Dodge Ram 2500, 24300 miles, RT6

Look throught the various Cummins websites and you'll see it is common to pop the head gasket by upping the boost. There's some things you could have done beforehand but it appears to be to late now. Sorry. Other than that the OCA looks good.

    SuperTech Oil Reviews...personal experience?

I had a 2002 F150 w/ a 5.4 and took it to 240,000 miles before I sold it. I always used the cheapest 5W-20 DINO oil and filter and changed it at >5,000 miles. Oil type was almost always ST or Halvoline (EXPRESS would change & filter for $19.99). When I sold it, it used a quart every 3,000 miles...

    Rotella TP 10w-30; 6.5k miles; Dmax @ 39.5k

Let me get this right, correct me if I'm wrong. Two years in the sump and you have but 6k on the oil? At that rate you might consider going another two years before doing a UOA. Also, at your current rate of mileage the Duramax will likely outlast your grandkids. Another thought. The rubber...

    Rotella T vs T6

I agree with all except that members of the Donner Party might disagree with you regarding how cold it gets in Truckee. It's not Bismarck but it does gets chilly.
