    100LL In Bike

100LL avgas has a really large amount of lead in it, I've seen comparisons to the older avgas than had almost no lead, and the 100LL is IMHO misnamed since the lead content is so high, high enough that if you use it in a vehicle with a catalytic converter it will destroy the catalyst.

It looks like fuel dilution on the last Rotella T sample was the likely cause of the Rotella T being only 0.1 short of being a sae 40, the fuel dilution on that sample was substantially higher than any of the other samples.

    CJ-4 Rotella 5w-40

I haven't looked at the local Wally Worlds supply of Rotella T 5w-40 recently, I guess I'll take a look next time I'm out there.

    New Rotella Formulation

The reports on the new Triple Protection have been extremely good, while some of the additives have been reduced somewhat, I don't think that will be an issue. I'm looking at it as a plus overall.

    M1 5W-30 "Truck & SUV" in '07 Gold Wing

Not a big deal, but Mobil 1 Truck and SUV has reduced levels of phosphorus (ZDDP) compared to a lot of the other oils that are used in motorcycles, it's one of the new ones with 800 ppm or lower levels of phosphorus (ZDDP). Here's a chart showing phosphorus levels in Mobil 1 oils, on the chart...

    K & N advertising

Sometime back in the 80's I fell for the advertising hype by K&N air filters, all I got for my money was a tremendous increase in intake noise, there was no detectable change in power, I have always tracked gas mileage carefully and there was definitely no change in gas mileage. When I went to...

using a car oil filter for a motorcycle

That's exactly why I pointed him to the Fram website, they often recommend filters that are commonly available, and from the Fram number you can cross reference it to the brand of your choice. As an example, Fram recommends a PH6607 for the GL1800, a lot of the guys are running the Super Tech...

using a car oil filter for a motorcycle

A car oil filter can be fine, but you need to select it with more than just that it looks about the same size. One way to do it is to find a cross reference, go to Fram's website and use their info to find the filter number you need for your bike, then you can cross reference that to any brand...

    suzuki oil by sopus

I just noticed something interesting, Pennzoil motorcycle oil, both 10w-40 and 20w-50 is on the JASO list, shown as manufactured by SOPUS! They aren't Rotella, but are manufactured by Shell.

    Rotella 5W or 15W?

I agree, I would never recommend anyone exceeding the max mileage recommended by the bike manufacturer, although some do it, I won't!
