    Best 5w30 Synthetics From Walmart

I’ve been buying Castrol Dexos at Walmart because it’s $4 a bottle cheaper than Walmart Dexos, which I used previously.

    Transmission Flush or Drop Pan?

I took my 2018 GMC with 48000 miles to the GM dealer for a trans fluid and filter change. Turns out I was about to get a flush, so I threw a shoe and insisted on a pan drop and filter change. I got it; including a fluid change in the transfer case it cost $600. Am I right in claiming GM...

What happened to Arco graphite motor oil?

I used it in the 1980 Bonneville 301 my Dad bought me to drive to college; never had any problems and passed it to my brother, who drove it for years, until he got rear-ended in Ft. Worth so many times the body shops couldn't straighten the rear frame again. Something about it appealed to the...

    Super Tech vs all others....

I’m using it and the ST filter in my 2018 Sierra 1500 5.3. It’s quality oil and a nice filter at a great price, and I don’t do extended change intervals because oil is too cheap and new is always better.

    Mixing oils

Companies are soooo risk-averse, that Hellman's will advise against mixing oil, water, vinegar, and eggs. They simply have to avoid any semblance of blame if something breaks, even if it isn't their fault (and it usually isn't).

    1931 Pierce-Arrow Bypass Filter

Hi, I am contemplating what I am going to do, post overhaul, for oil filtration. This car was built a couple years before Pierce went to hydraulic lifters, so the filtration was a bypass system that used a disposable filter with a 3/8 threaded fitting at either end; very similar to the one used...

Buying Subaru Forester with bad engine - question

why do you want a Subaru Forester? Why do you want one 17 years old? I learned a long time ago: there is a reason junkyards exist; and. NO, they are NOT worth fixing... Good luck.

Are thinner oils damaging MB Bluetec engines?

I agree: there is no excuse for a timing chain which is properly designed to give this kind of trouble. It's not the oil's fault IMO.
