    Alaska highway gas

Next summer my brother and I are riding to Alaska. From what I have read, high octane gas is not generally available. So we will have to rely on octane boosters. I had a look around on "search" but could not find an answer to; is their a good octane booster that won't screw up our FI systems...

Wow, totally different grease compatibility charts

This is not good. I know SFA about grease. While looking for a grease for my bike, I found these; http://www.finalube.com/reference_material/grease_compatibility_chart.htm http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/greasechart.htm What is right?

    My bike is using Amsoil?

My brother has a 2001 twin cam Soft tail that he uses Amsoil in, the older formula. We just completed a 9100 mile trip and I don't believe he had to add any oil. Whenever we could we cruised at 140 km/h (~87 mph) Hylton

    Scottoiler users

Triumph says the Scottoiler is not recommended with there Fuel Injection, something to do with taking vacuum from the intake. I decided to try a Pro Oiler. I haven't completed the install yet, but the kit looks quite good. It uses the speed of the bike to judge how much oil to dispense. It uses...

    Oil bath air filters

Tractors may not turn hard etc. But on the prairies sometimes you can hardly see the machine because of the dust they produce. I've used oil bath air cleaners on my Land Rovers. I can't attest to there efficiency, but there sure is lots of mud in the bottom when I clean them.

What are we using for chain lube?

Jay, If this is true why do they make it a roller? And why do the rollers on my chains look like they have been rolling?

    ATF in a motorcycle

At present it shares oil with the engine, but I am going to make it separate. I've been using Castrol Gran Prix (SG rated) 20w50. The chain and slipper work well and hardly ever need adjusting. I'm using ATF in another bike, that you move the trans to adjust the chain. The clutches in those...

    ATF in a motorcycle

I would like to try using ATF in the primary chain case of my motorcycle. The factory enlarged the engine to twice the original size, but basically left the clutch the same size. I use up a clutch every year and would like to try to make them last longer. The drive chain free play is taken up by...

    Help with specs

The research that I have done indicates GL-5 oils have additives that may attack some bronze compositions. I would like to use GL-5 but I'm worried about compatibility since they list specs at GL-4. The diffs are just the open type. The TF case has a diff in it, but it too is open. I was on...

    Help with specs

Good day, I'm new to the group. I have an, ex Military Land Rover. The specs call for a GL-4 90EP MIL-L-2105 gear oil for diffs and TF case. The manual transmission calls for ATF M2C33 F or G. I can't find those specs listed for oils available in Canada. Can anybody shed some light? Thanks Hylton
