I think your plan is a good one. I would also suggest calling LN Engineering and finding their opinion on it. They also sell a spin on oil filter conversion kit that uses a corvette filter.

Reviving an old thread if possible... How did the cleaning end up? I am thinking about doing the same to one of these 2.3t engines.

I ran the 9-3 2.3t 5,000mi on rotella T6. Its a mix of about 75% city, 25% highway. I'm a little worried about the fuel dilution and low TBN and high copper. Any opinions?
